tipsforadiet.mp4 I know there are a lot of ways girls get started on eating disorders. But to see one of the biggest causes just turn on the TV, or go grab a magazine. Every day we get these images of skinny girls thrown in our faces. It's the same message repeatedly: we are supposed to be skinny, skinny, skinny. "thin is in." When I think of at all the girls who have eating disorders I can't blame them. Look at all the crap that gets shoved in our faces! Did you know only 5% of women in the U.S.A. NATURALLY have the type of body you usually see in magazines? It doesn't matter how much you diet, your body type is something you are born with. Society needs to do some serious re-thinking and take a look at what they are doing to women and girls. The type of standard the media sets is unrealistic and unhealthy. People think that ads don’t affect them, and that commercials aren’t purposeful. But, when was the last time you saw a commercial with a model that wasn’t a size zero? why should our clothing size define who we are? It shouldn’t matter what dress size you are as long as you’re at a HEALTHY weight. When I think of all the girls who have been taught to believe that beauty equals the number on their scale it's heartbreaking. View Discretion... , disorders, eating
