That's So Gay. Hey, Watch Your Mouth!

Approximately 28% of gay and lesbian youth drop out of high school because of discomfort in the school environment. When you are constantly being attacked both verbally and physically, when majority of people around you seem to judge, embarrass, humiliate, or just make you feel not safe....you'd probably want to drop out too

Gay students hear anti-gay slurs as often as 26 times each day; faculty intervention occurs in only about 3% of those cases.

Approximately 40% of homeless youth are identified as gay, lesbian or bisexual. 26% of gay and lesbian youth are FORCED to leave home, This could have something to do with the fact that 50% of these kids are rejected by their own parents because of their orientation.

Really, when you say ''that's so gay.'' It only makes you sound biased, ignorant and close-minded. The sad thing is, is that a lot of people don't realize how much they say it, or they don't realize the impact it carries. Then there's also the people who just honestly don't care who's listening, or who they hurt. Do you know how hurtful that could be to someone who was Gay or Lesbian? Personally, I might be straight, but I know people who are gay. It makes me crazy to hear people say it, and If i'm sick of it, then I can only imagine how someone who is gay feels. If you expect to get anywhere in life, you can start by accepting people for who they are. There’s enough hate in the world, so don't add to the problem. Be a solution. When you say "That's so gay." do you realize what you say? Shut up.
